Aparte de otras cosas: a un [324e]<\/b> var\u00f3n querido para m\u00ed: al viejo S\u00f3crates, que casi me atrevo a decir sin avergonzarme era el m\u00e1s justo de los contempor\u00e1neos, lo comisionaron, junto con otros ciudadanos para que trajeran por la fuerza a un ciudadano para matarlo X*aX,1<\/a><\/sup>Para este pasaje vide<\/i> Apolog\u00eda<\/i> 32c, as\u00ed como el final del Fed\u00f3n<\/i>.<\/span> a fin de que, as\u00ed, resultara S\u00f3crates su c\u00f3mplice en tal acci\u00f3n, quisi\u00e9ralo o no; mas no obedeci\u00f3 y se expuso a padecer toda [325a]<\/b> clase de peligros antes de ser copart\u00edcipe de obras imp\u00edas; viendo, por cierto, todo esto, adem\u00e1s de otras cosas tales no peque\u00f1as, me indign\u00e9 y retir\u00e9 de estas maldades presentes X*bX.2<\/a><\/sup>Puede ser una alusi\u00f3n a la ejecuci\u00f3n de Ter\u00e1menes por obra de Critias.<\/span> Despu\u00e9s de no mucho tiempo cay\u00f3 el gobierno de los Treinta y todo su r\u00e9gimen. Una vez m\u00e1s, aunque brevemente, me arrastr\u00f3 el deseo de actuar en la pol\u00edtica p\u00fablica. Muchas [325b]<\/b> cosas pasaron en aquellos tiempos, por desordenados, capaces de indignar a cualquiera; y nada tiene de sorprendente el que se tomaran de algunos enemigos venganzas mayores que en las revoluciones, aunque de gran equidad usaron las que entonces volvieron. Pero es el caso que algunos poderosos llevaron ante el juzgado X*cX,3<\/a><\/sup>Meleto y \u00c1nito, los acusadores de S\u00f3crates.<\/span> una vez m\u00e1s, a aquel nuestro compa\u00f1ero S\u00f3crates, llev\u00e1ndolo a juicio por una causa la m\u00e1s sacr\u00edlega y, de todas, la menos adecuada a S\u00f3crates, porque [325c]<\/b> unos lo llevaron a juicio por imp\u00edo; otros, lo condenaron e hicieron matar a quien, en aquella otra ocasi\u00f3n, no quiso participar de un procedimiento imp\u00edo contra uno de los entonces fugitivos amigos, cuando, aun fugitivos, los persegu\u00eda la mala suerte. Considerando tales cosas y los hombres que hac\u00edan tal pol\u00edtica y las leyes y costumbres, cuanto m\u00e1s lo consideraba y adelantaba en edad me parec\u00eda ser tanto m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil administrar correctamente los asuntos de la Ciudad. [325d]<\/b> Porque sin varones amigos y compa\u00f1eros fieles no es posible hacerlo; no era f\u00e1cil hallarlos entre los presentes, porque nuestra Ciudad no era ya administrada seg\u00fan las costumbres y procedimientos de nuestros padres; adquirir nuevos amigos resultaba imposible hacerlo con alguna brevedad. Empero, termin\u00e9 pensando que todas las Ciudades actuales rigense pol\u00edticamente mal, porque sus legislaciones tienen casi casi algo de incurable, si no da la Suerte de que las acompa\u00f1en ciertas admirables disposiciones; y me sent\u00ed forzado a decir, alabando a la recta filos\u00f3fica, que de ella es propio percibir lo que es justo para los negocios de la Ciudad y para todos los de particulares.
