Se trata en sentido literal de un aut\u00e9ntico <em>tesoro<\/em> <em>filos\u00f3fico<\/em> cuya vastedad suele ignorarse. Seg\u00fan las cifras m\u00e1s recientes, los estudiosos de la literatura emblem\u00e1tica calculan que conocemos unas 6500 obras impresas que contendr\u00edan la no desde\u00f1able cifra de 100 millones (!) de emblemas.<sup class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote \" data-mfn=\"1\" data-mfn-post-scope=\"00000000000007750000000000000000_512\"><a href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  role=\"button\" aria-pressed=\"false\" aria-describedby=\"mfn-content-00000000000007750000000000000000_512-1\">1<\/a><\/sup><span id=\"mfn-content-00000000000007750000000000000000_512-1\" role=\"tooltip\" class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote__note\" tabindex=\"0\" data-mfn=\"1\">Daily (2016): cap\u00edtulo 3<\/span> A este n\u00famero hay que sumar el conjunto &#8211;quiz\u00e1s nunca determinable de forma definitiva, pero sin duda amplio&#8211; de obras manuscritas que descansan en colecciones p\u00fablicas y privadas. <sup class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote \" data-mfn=\"2\" data-mfn-post-scope=\"00000000000007750000000000000000_512\"><a href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  role=\"button\" aria-pressed=\"false\" aria-describedby=\"mfn-content-00000000000007750000000000000000_512-2\">2<\/a><\/sup><span id=\"mfn-content-00000000000007750000000000000000_512-2\" role=\"tooltip\" class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote__note\" tabindex=\"0\" data-mfn=\"2\">Una bibliograf\u00eda de obras emblem\u00e1ticas manuscritas puede consultarse en Sider y Obrist (1997).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Y no solo hemos de contar con el acervo bibliogr\u00e1fico. Exist\u00eda asimismo todo un mundo material ajeno a las bibliotecas que serv\u00eda como soporte emblem\u00e1tico: decoraci\u00f3n de edificios en fachadas, paredes y techos, utensilios para el hogar, panfletos sobre acontecimientos, celebraciones o exequias, junto a otros elementos de gran importancia en la vida cotidiana de las ciudades como las hojas sueltas impresas (<em>Einblattdrucke<\/em>), hojas de defensa de tesis (<em>Thesenbl\u00e4tter<\/em>) y <em>affixiones<\/em> (carteles de gran tama\u00f1o) de vida ef\u00edmera que pod\u00edan contemplarse en lugares p\u00fablicos.<sup class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote \" data-mfn=\"3\" data-mfn-post-scope=\"00000000000007750000000000000000_512\"><a href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  role=\"button\" aria-pressed=\"false\" aria-describedby=\"mfn-content-00000000000007750000000000000000_512-3\">3<\/a><\/sup><span id=\"mfn-content-00000000000007750000000000000000_512-3\" role=\"tooltip\" class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote__note\" tabindex=\"0\" data-mfn=\"3\">Un estudio de <em>affixiones<\/em> en el Colegio de la Compa\u00f1\u00eda de Jes\u00fas de Bruselas puede verse en Porteman (1996).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">En este sentido material, la emblem\u00e1tica se extend\u00eda por todas partes del mundo simb\u00f3lico de la modernidad temprana, adquiriendo funciones an\u00e1logas a las de la prensa y la publicidad contempor\u00e1neas: hojas volantes (<em>flyers<\/em>) para informar y dar a conocer los \u00faltimos rumores, noticias o eventos sociales como conciertos, festivales o competiciones. Peter Daily ha llegado a afirmar que \u00ablos productos de la imprenta podr\u00edan haber sido de menor significaci\u00f3n en t\u00e9rminos de recepci\u00f3n [de la tradici\u00f3n emblem\u00e1tica] que los manuscritos, <em>affixiones<\/em> y decoraciones eclesi\u00e1sticas\u00bb.<sup class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote \" data-mfn=\"4\" data-mfn-post-scope=\"00000000000007750000000000000000_512\"><a href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  role=\"button\" aria-pressed=\"false\" aria-describedby=\"mfn-content-00000000000007750000000000000000_512-4\">4<\/a><\/sup><span id=\"mfn-content-00000000000007750000000000000000_512-4\" role=\"tooltip\"
