A uno que le dijo: \u00ab\u00bfNo te est\u00e1 insultando aqu\u00e9l?\u00bb, le respondi\u00f3: \u00abNo, porque yo no soy como \u00e9l dice\u00bb. Dec\u00eda tambi\u00e9n que hay que exponerse de buen grado a las burlas de los c\u00f3micos, pues si aciertan a se\u00f1alar alguno de nuestros rasgos, nos har\u00e1n mejores, y si no, en nada nos afecta. Cuando Jantipa primero lo injuri\u00f3 y luego le arroj\u00f3 agua, dijo: \u00ab\u00bfNo dec\u00eda yo que, cuando Jantipa truena, luego har\u00e1 llover?\u00bb. Al decirle Alcib\u00edades que los insultos de Jantipa eran insoportables, le respondi\u00f3: \u00abPero yo estoy acostumbrado, lo mismo que si estuviera oyendo constantemente el ruido de una polea; y t\u00fa tambi\u00e9n soportas el graznido de los gansos\u00bb. [37]<\/b> Y como aquel repuso: \u00abPero a m\u00ed los gansos me dan huevos y polluelos\u00bb, contest\u00f3: \u00abA m\u00ed a mi tambi\u00e9n me da hijos Jantipa\u00bb. Cuando una vez ella le arranc\u00f3 el manto en medio de la plaza y los amigos le aconsejaron la castigara con las manos, dijo: \u00ab\u00a1S\u00ed, por Zeus!, para que nosotros andemos a pu\u00f1etazos y vosotros os pong\u00e1is a gritar cada uno: \u201c\u00a1Bravo, S\u00f3crates!\u201d, \u201c\u00a1Bravo, Jantipa!\u201d\u00bb. Dec\u00eda que trataba a una mujer desabrida como tratan los buenos jinetes a los caballos ind\u00f3mitos: \u00abPues mira \u2014dec\u00eda\u2014: as\u00ed como ellos, una vez hay dome\u00f1ado a \u00e9stos, dominan f\u00e1cilmente a los otros, as\u00ed yo, teniendo que sufrir a Jantipa, soporto muy a gusto a los dem\u00e1s hombres\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n
