Pues bien, Varones atenienses; que yo no delinco, a tenor de lo escrito en la acusaci\u00f3n de Meleto, me parece no necesitar de m\u00e1s larga defensa, que la hecha es ya suficiente. Pero lo que dije antes: que me he malquistado con muchos, sabed que es, por cierto, verdad. Y esto ser\u00e1 lo que me pierda, si es que me pierdo, y no <\/span>Meleto<\/span> ni <\/span>\u00c1nito<\/span>: la calumnia y envidia de los m\u00e1s que a muchos otros varones buenos perdi\u00f3 ya y pienso que perder\u00e1. <\/span>As\u00ed que no tiene<\/span> nada de particularmente terrible <\/span>[28b]<\/b><\/span> el que no se <\/span>detenga en m<\/span>\u00ed<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Mas tal vez diga alguno: <\/span>\u00ab<\/span>\u00bfno te da <\/span>verg\u00fcenza, S\u00f3crates, de emprender una empresa que te est\u00e1 poniendo a peligro de morir?<\/span>\u00bb <\/span>A este tal le dijera yo, como respuesta debida: <\/span>\u00ab<\/span>No hablas bellamente, \u00a1oh hombre!, si piensas que deba ponerse <\/span>a razones con el peligro de vivir o de morir el var\u00f3n que en algo, aunque sea m\u00ednimo, <\/span>pueda ser de provecho; y no deba <\/span>ponerse a considerar, <\/span>cuando <\/span>hace algo, solamente esto: si lo que hace es justo o injusto, y si son obras de var\u00f3n bueno o de var\u00f3n malo\u00bb.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
