Ante todo, Varones atenienses, es justo que me defienda [18b]<\/b> de las primeras acusaciones falsas y de los primeros acusadores; despu\u00e9s, de las \u00faltimas y de los \u00faltimos.<\/span><\/p>\n

Porque muchos han sido mis acusadores ante vosotros y desde mucho tiempo atr\u00e1s, y siempre en falso. A \u00e9stos temo yo mucho m\u00e1s que a los que rodean a \u00c1nito, y eso que son tambi\u00e9n temibles. Pero los primeras lo son mucho m\u00e1s, Varones, pues os tomaron cuando erais peque\u00f1os casi todos vosotros y os persuadieron, acus\u00e1ndome de mil cosas, todas falsas: \u00abque hay un tal S\u00f3crates, var\u00f3n sabio, astr\u00f3logo sospechoso, rebuscador zahor\u00ed de cuanto oculta Tierra, buen enderezador de malas razones\u00bb. [18c]<\/b> Los que tal fama, Varones atenienses, han propagado son mis acusadores m\u00e1s temibles; porque quienes los oyen se dan a pensar que los dedicados a semejantes investigaciones no creen ni en dioses. First then it is right for me to defend myself against the first false accusations brought against me, and the first accusers, and then against the later accusations and the later accusers.<\/span><\/p>\n

[18b]<\/b> For many accusers have risen up against me before you, who have been speaking for a long time, many years already, and saying nothing true; and I fear them more than Anytus and the rest, though these also are dangerous; but those others are more dangerous, gentlemen, who gained your belief, since they got hold of most of you in childhood, and accused me without any truth, saying, \u201cThere is a certain Socrates, a wise man, a ponderer over the things in the air and one who has investigated the things beneath the earth and who makes the weaker argument the stronger.\u201d These, men of Athens, [18c]<\/b> who have spread abroad this report, are my dangerous enemies.
