By calling this pursuit political <\/span>philosophy, we <\/span>imply that it forms a part of a larger whole: of philosophy; or that political philosophy is a branch of philosophy. In the <\/span>expression \u201c<\/span>political philosophy,\u201d \u201cphilosophy\u201d indicates the manner of treatment: a treatment which both goes to the roots and is <\/span>comprehensive; \u201cpolitical\u201d <\/span>indicates both the subject matter and the function: political philosophy deals with political matters in a manner that is meant to be relevant for political life; therefore its subject must be identical with the goal, the ultimate goal of political action. The theme of political philosophy is mankind\u2019<\/span>s<\/span> great <\/span>objectives, <\/span>freedom and government or empire<\/span>\u2014<\/span>objectives which are capable of lifting all men beyond their poor selves. Political <\/span>philosophy is <\/span>that branch of philosophy which is closest to political life, to non-philosophic life, to human life. Only in his <\/span>Politics<\/i><\/span> does <\/span>Aristotle make <\/span>use of oaths<\/span>\u2014<\/span>the almost inevitable accompaniment of passionate speech.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Next paragraph<\/a><\/p>\n Previous paragraph<\/a><\/p>\n Cuando esta propensi\u00f3n se hace expl\u00edcita y el hombre se impone expl\u00edcitamente como meta la adquisici\u00f3n del conocimiento del bien en su vida y en su sociedad, entonces surge la filosof\u00eda pol\u00edtica. Al denominar a este empe\u00f1o filosof\u00eda pol\u00edtica, queremos decir que forma parte de un conjunto m\u00e1s amplio: de la filosof\u00eda. La filosof\u00eda pol\u00edtica es una rama de la filosof\u00eda.
