The Problem of Political Philosophy<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n It is a great <\/span>honour<\/span>, and at the same time a challenge to accept a task of particular difficulty, to be asked to speak about political philosophy in Jerusalem. In this city, and in this land, the theme of political philosophy \u2013 \u201c<\/span>the <\/span>city of righteousness, the faithful city\u201d \u2013 <\/span>has <\/span>been taken more seriously than anywhere else on earth. <\/span>Nowhere <\/span>else has the longing for justice and the just city filled the purest hearts and the loftiest souls with such zeal as on this sacred soil. I know all too well that I am utterly unable to convey to you what in the best possible case, in the case of any man, would be no more than a faint reproduction or a weak imitation of our prophet<\/span>s\u2019<\/span> vision. I shall even <\/span>be<\/span> compelled to lead you into a region where the dimmest recollection of that vision is on the point of vanishing altogether<\/span>\u2014<\/span><\/strong>where the Kingdom of God is derisively called an <\/span>imagined pri<\/span>ncipality<\/span>\u2014<\/span><\/strong>to say here nothing of the region which was neve<\/span>r<\/span> illu<\/span>mined by it. But while being compelled, or compelling myself, to wander far away from our sacred heritage, or to be silent about it, I shall not for a moment forget what Jerusalem stands for.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Next paragraph<\/a><\/p>\n I. El problema de la Filosof\u00eda Pol\u00edtica<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Es un gran honor y, al mismo tiempo, un desaf\u00edo aceptar una tarea de particular dificultad, <\/span>ser invitado a <\/span>hablar de filosof\u00eda pol\u00edtica en Jerusal\u00e9n. En esta ciudad y en esta tierra \u2014<\/span>\u00ab<\/span>la ciudad de la justicia, la <\/span>muy fiel <\/span>ciudad<\/span>\u00bb<\/span>\u2014, el tema de la filosof\u00eda pol\u00edtica ha sido tomado m\u00e1s en serio que en cualquier otro lugar de la tierra. En ning\u00fan otro lugar el anhelo de justicia y de ciudad justa ha llenado con tanto celo los corazones m\u00e1s puros y las almas m\u00e1s elevadas como en esta tierra sagrada. S\u00e9 muy bien que soy absolutamente incapaz de transmitirles lo que, en el mejor de los casos, para cualquier hombre no ser\u00eda m\u00e1s que una d\u00e9bil reproducci\u00f3n o una d\u00e9bil imitaci\u00f3n de la visi\u00f3n de nuestros profetas. Incluso, me ver\u00e9 obligado a conducirlos a una regi\u00f3n donde el m\u00e1s vago recuerdo de esa visi\u00f3n est\u00e1 a punto de desaparecer por completo \u2014donde el Reino de Dios es llamado burlonamente un principado imaginario\u2014 para no decir nada aqu\u00ed de la regi\u00f3n que nunca fue iluminada por <\/span>dicha visi\u00f3n<\/span>.
